Root Canal Awareness Week in Utah County

Each year, the American Association of Endodontists celebrates “Root Canal Awareness Week” in order to help dispel the myth that root canals are painful. This year’s Root Canal Awareness week is from March 30-April 5, 2014. This is also a time when patients are encouraged to see an endodontist if they have tooth pain and need a root canal.

“Thanks to advancements like modern anesthesia, digital imaging and operating microscopes, today’s root canal treatments are often quick and painless,” said AAE President Dr. Gary R. Hartwell. “The root canal doesn’t deserve its bad reputation. Millions of root canal treatments are performed successfully every year, saving natural teeth and helping patients keep their smiles.”
