Root canals therapy is performed to remove diseased tissue from the inside of a tooth, and at Cascade Endodontics in Orem UT, we have a lot of experience with this procedure.
Every case is different. Depending on the complexity involved, a root canal can be completed in one to three appointments. The good news (we can’t see this enough!) is that root canals are not nearly as painful as their reputation might lead you to believe. On the contrary: a root canal is going to relieve pain, not cause it.
Follow-Ups
We recommend that patients have a follow-up appointment with us within six months of the root canal. That way we can make sure everything is healing as expected. After that we’ll want to see you every five years to track the tooth’s progress.
With proper care, a tooth that has undergone a root canal can last for the rest of your life.
It most cases a permanent restoration is needed after a root canal. That means covering the area with a dental crown. This helps to protect it, as well as give it full functionality. Without one, re-treatment may be necessary.
At Cascade Endodontics we have long experience with root canal therapy and sedation dentistry. Please call our office to schedule an appointment today.
